From weekend getaways to Pride to summer arts, here’s a look at what’s going on this month in Metro.
Highlights include Metro’s summer arts preview, coverage of Pride events and summer getaway guides for all three cities.
Get Out of the City Guide – June 3
This comprehensive guide will give readers suggestions of destinations outside of Boston, New York and Philadelphia for fun summer getaways. From Cape Cod to the Hamptons to the Poconos, this guide will have it all. Plus, tips on places to stay, transportation and ideas for quick day trips.
Pride – June 9-10 & 23-24
We’ll have coverage in print and online of all the Pride festivities in Boston, New York and Philadelphia. In Boston and Philly, we’ll have coverage in the Going Out section on June 9 about all the parties and events taking place over the weekend to celebrate Pride and the parade. On June 10 we’ll cover the news surrounding the parade.
In New York, Going Out coverage on June 23 will list all the details for the weekend’s festivities. On June 24, news will cover the upcoming parade.
Summer Arts Preview – June 10
Metro’s seasonal special section featuring dance, performing arts, music and more is back! Featured coverage will include all the summer’s best showings, museum exhibits, exhibition schedules, highly anticipated performances and events you don’t want to miss. Plus, we’ll have calendar listings for theater, dance, visual arts, museums and cultural events.
Tony Awards – June 10 & 12
We’ll have a preview of Broadway’s big night on Friday June 10 and live coverage online during the show on Sunday June 12.
Summer Fun Guide (BST) – June 16
This all-access guide to Boston’s summer favorites will include coverage of local concerts and festivals, fun for the whole family, best bars and restaurants and much more!
July 4th in Going Out – June 30
The Going Out section will feature Fourth of July festivities on June 30, including parties, BBQs and the best places to watch fireworks.
A dedicated glossy magazine will be inserted into every copy of Metro on July 25, with features such as “Live Philadelphia Like a Delegate” and “Experience the DNC Like a Philadelphian”. Plus, Metro will have be a special edition with guest editor and cover story Ed Rendell, Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee Chair and former Governor of Pennsylvania.
