Metro Celebrates Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day 2016 on April 22, Metro will publish environmental-focused news and features throughout the week.

The April 22 issue will include coverage of all Earth Day related festivities taking place in all three cities, as well as the latest news on environmental issues.

For the seventh year running, Metro New York has once again partnered with Earth Day Initiative to celebrate green innovations and promote environmental causes. This year Earth Day New York, a free event in Union Square, will be held on Sunday, April 17 from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will feature dozens of exhibitors, interactive displays, live performances and kids’ activities.

Metro New York will have a preview of the event in print Friday, April 15 and will also have a recap and highlights of the event in the paper Monday, April 18.

Throughout the week, metro.us will feature stories about new local green initiatives and national environmental issues on a dedicated section of the site. Check it out now.

On April 22, papers in all three cities will publish a green issue that will include extensive coverage of related festivities happening in and around the cities.
